At 21, Chris Hargreaves our managing director founded Prestige Chauffeurs in 1996. After three years working for local private hire companies he felt that there was a demand for an upmarket service, but at rates competitive to taxis and private hire firms.
After spending a few months searching for the right vehicle Chris took his first booking on the 10th December 1996, arriving in a burgundy Rover 800, dressed in a smart suit and chauffeurs’ peak cap. Word quickly spread around Bury that there was a cost effective alternative to the standard vehicles and drivers being supplied.
With a busy Christmas thanks to new clients and businesses using Prestige Chauffeurs, demand was high for the service. By February 1997, Chris and his Rover 800 was struggling to meet demand, so Chris approached his parents to join the small enterprise.
Chris’s mother and father, Jen and Bill came on board in February 1996, creating Prestige Chauffeurs Limited. From humble beginnings Prestige Chauffeurs has grown over the past eighteen years with clients around the globe choosing to use their service.
Prestige Chauffeurs employs a number of local chauffeurs who are fully trained, experienced and licensed who give just the same level of service as Chris and Bill. Jen, who does not drive, runs the office, working with PA’s and clients to ensure their bookings are professionally handled and nothing is too much trouble.
Chris, Bill and Jen have kept the professional service, value for money and friendly service throughout the years, and look forward to providing chauffeur services over the next eighteen years.
