In The Beginning

In 1996, at the age of 21, Chris Hargreaves, our managing director founded Prestige Chauffeurs. The idea for Prestige came after three years working for local private hire companies, where he saw a demand for an upmarket service, but one that was competitive.

It took some time to locate the ideal vehicle, but Chris purchased his first chauffeur vehicle, a burgundy red Rover 800, and to add an extra special touch, Chris dressed in a smart suit and chauffeur’s peak cap.

Just a few months later in February 1997, struggling with demand Chris’s parents Jen and Bill came on board creating Prestige Chauffeurs Limited.


Throughout the years, Chris, Bill and Jen have continued to uphold the founding principles of Prestige Chauffeurs. Clients today continue to experience a high level of service, confidentiality, professionalism and value for money. Prestige Chauffeurs have not only built up a global clientele, but have also become preferred partners to other chauffeur companies. This has enabled us to expand the technology available to us and for large events we are able to supply extra vehicles and chauffeurs to meet clients’ requirements.

Prestige Chauffeurs has adapted it current fleet to ensure it meets all CAZ emission zone regulations throughout the UK, with low emission executive vehicles at the centre of our internal climate plan.
