Today, 18 August 2024, and after twenty seven years of service each, Bill and Jenny have retired from Prestige Chauffeurs Limited. From humble beginnings, Prestige Chauffeurs was founded on the 10 December 1996 by Chris, with just one vehicle, a burgundy red Rover 800. Within days, Jenny started helping out at Prestige, answering the phone and being the first point of contact for clients.
Bill, who ran a local milk-round with Jenny used his decades of sales experience to help proudly promote Prestige to his customers. Even though Bill didn’t start chauffeuring until March 1997, he was instrumental is helping the company grow from a single vehicle to two, in just three months.
On the 28 February 1997, Prestige Chauffeurs Limited was founded and became a family business of mum, dad and son. Over the past 27 years, Prestige Chauffeurs expanded to several vehicles and chauffeurs, offering both private families and businesses a chauffeur service across the UK. Surviving ash clouds, global financial disasters, major travel disruptions and Covid-19, there have been some very difficult times. However, the good times far outweighed the bad.
Together Prestige Chauffeurs have built a global clientele, including global brands, family businesses, government departments, the entertainment industry and private families. Never did a day go by where Bill wasn’t passionate about his role, with Jenny making herself available 24/7 for clients, with no request too much trouble.
As Bill and Jenny start their new adventures in Scotland, in a statement Bill and Jenny said: “We have been overwhelmed by the kind words and best wishes for our clients, we have been very moved.”
“It has be a privilege to work for so many clients over the years. I have watched clients children grow up and be part of their special memories, such as weddings. I will miss clients and the amazing relationships we have had over many years.”
Jenny added: “I am going to miss the interactions with clients, so may of whom I have known for over 20 years. It was also a pleasure to meet a number of clients as well, especially those who required assistance or our companion service. I will miss clients and being part of a great team.”
Joining the team is Nicola Hargreaves, who will lead the bookings and accounts team for Prestige Chauffeurs. A number of changes will take place over the next few weeks and months. Clients can still contact us 24/7 by phone or email.
Our fleet will now include a Volvo V90 and S90, Audi A8 and Mercedes Vito MPV. We will also be expanding our “Chauffeur Only” service, providing highly trained chauffeurs to drive clients vehicles. These chauffeurs have backgrounds including former police officers who specialised in protection drivers. Whilst clients have been used to speaking to Jenny, moving forward some periods of time may divert to an answer machine for the short-term. However, all messages will be responded to within an 1 hour.
